Our Silver and Bronze sponsors for the walk
On Saturday, October 17, the Howard County Autism Society will host its third
annual "One Step Closer . . . Autism Walk" at Centennial Lake. The
family-friendly event is set to raise funds for the Howard County Autism
Resource Center and to raise autism awareness in the community.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. A complimentary continental breakfast will be
provided.
A children's area will feature moon bounces, face painting, giveaways, and much
more. The 2.4 mile walk around Centennial Lake will begin at 9 a.m.
Prizes! $50 raised = a walk T-shirt. Other special prizes will be awarded for
most funds raised by a team, by an individual, and more.
The theme, "One Step Closer," reflects the organization's commitment to
bridging the gap between the services provided in the county and the needs of
individuals with autism. Last year, more than 440 individuals participated in
the event. This year, the autism society will focus on building walk teams of
both families and businesses.
Advance
registration is encouraged. Individuals may also register on-site.
