Who we are The Howard County Chapter of the Autism Society of America (HCC-ASA, or the Howard County Autism Society) is a chapter of the Autism Society of America, which was founded in 1965 to help parents, family members, professionals, and caregivers learn about autism, PDD, and related disorders,
and how to effectively deal with these disabilities. HCC-ASA is one of over 200 chapters in 48 states across the country.
HCC-ASA is dedicated to increasing public awareness about autism and the day-to-day issues faced by individuals with autism, their families and the professionals with whom they interact. The national
society and HCC-ASA share the common goals of providing information and education, supporting research and advocating for programs and services for families and individuals on the autism spectrum.
